You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll think of your own family and Sunday night dinners with containers of Chinese food. We liked the On-On Tea Garden in Vancouver. Not long ago, I ordered in and put a group of my favourite alte-kakers around my 89-year old father’s dinner table to capture this peculiar ritual , some old friends and great stories. You’ll hear about the caterer who assaulted the butcher with a brisket, how to eat a stale corned beef sandwich, and the New York adventures of a schmata man from Winnipeg. I hope you agree that this intimate film is a charming testimony to my people's enduring ability to entertain anyone who will listen.
